Global Partners Institute, the parent organization of GPI North America, received government approval to be established as a non-profit company in 1992, with the aim of conducting a wide range of international exchanges, including various kinds of English language training, home stay programs, student exchanges, private study programs, and exchanges with sister schools abroad.
In order to provide better quality of service, in January of 2012 GPI North America was established, specializing in short term programs. In 2013, GPI US was also established to service American programs. GPI North America operates nation wide in Canada to provide an extensive range of programs from 1 – 3 months in length, including English language training, leadership training programs, homestay programs, and dormitory stay programs.
Due to travel restrictions imposed in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic GPI North America pivoted operations to provide on-line programs to share the Canadian culture with students overseas, as well as welcoming long term students to Canada to study for the year in 2021.
All members of GPI North America offer friendly service, have experience living in both North America and Japan, are bilingual and fluent in Japanese and English, and understand North American and Japanese culture and education systems.
